Visit Antibes Juan-les-Pins over a day

Early in the morning, treat yourself as you explore the Provençal Market. This food market welcomes you under the Cours Masséna market halls every morning (except Monday in the off season) from 06:00 to 13:00. With fresh and farm products, you can also discover the Socca – this famous local chickpea crepe, cooked over a wood fire and sprinkled with pepper, best enjoyed with a pre-dinner drink. You can also take the opportunity to stroll through the shops that line the market halls, exiting through the centre to admire the painting by Dameron as you pass by.

Then, head to the Picasso Museum, (from 10:00, every day except Monday). Plan one to two hours to visit this magnificent building, housing the works of Picasso – of course – but also of Germaine Richier, Nicolas de Staël, Joan Miró, Bernard Pagès, Anne and Patrick Poirier, Hans Hartung, among many more. The museum also regularly offers temporary exhibitions.

As you exit the museum, spend a moment relaxing in a café to savour your Socca, before choosing one of the many restaurants located in the old town for a spot of lunch.

In the early afternoon, make your way through the shaded alleys of the old town – not forgetting to pay a visit to the picturesque district of Safranier and all the little alleys located between the ramparts and the Cours Masséna or Rue Aubernon. We also recommend taking the opportunity to discover the Urban Art works scattered around Antibes Juan-les-Pins.

Pass through the port, making a quick visit to see the Nomade, the work of Spanish artist Jaume Plensa , then explore the boutiques in our shopping streets: rues Sade, James Close, Thuret, Clemenceau, de la République and Wilson. These streets present a selection of small, quality shops in which you will discover a range of original and regional handicrafts.

In the late afternoon, pick up your car/or take either  bus no° 2 or shuttle no 14 (Ilette stop) and hop off at the beach of Salis to refresh yourself before continuing on to Cap d'Antibes.

Choice of two tours :

  • Climb, from the port of Salis to the Garoupe lighthouse on foot via Chemin du Calvaire (by car, follow the signs/take bus no 2  to the Phare du Cap stop, running once an hour), where you can visit the Chapel and admire the magnificent panorama.
  • For the very bravest, park in the Avenue Andre Sélla car park (Garoupe beach) or take bus no 2 and head off hiking (easy route) along the Tire-poil footpath. This path can be somewhat steep, so remember to take appropriate footwear.

Finish your day in Juan-les-Pins, passing by Belle Epoque villas, crossing the Pinède and walking in the footsteps of Jazz stars to dine on a beach or in one of the many restaurants on offer, before heading off for a little more shopping.
